Department of Defense (DOD) letter from their Commanding Officer verifying active duty status. Print out from https://scra.dmdc.osd.mil/scra/#/single-record verifying current active duty status. Retired U.S. Military personnel, purchaser must provide one of the following documents: current (within the last 12 month) Retiree Account Statement (RAS). Most recent 1099-R or CRSC (Combat Related Special Compensation) or CRDP (Concurrent Retirement Disability Pay) Statement from Defense Finance and Accounting Service, U.S. Military Retirement Pay. Grey-Area Retirees who do not have RAS due to their age, DOD letter notifying Eligibility for Retired Pay at Age 60 and current driver's license.
